Caverna de Las Brujas (Witches’Cave)
Petrified Forest
Petrified Forest is about 6 kms from Bardas Blancas and 11 kms from Caverna de Las Brujas. These are an important rest of petrified araucaria. They are 120 millions years of age.

Cascadas del Chihuido (Chihuido Cascades)

This marine origin formation is about 30 kms from Malargue City . Its fall has 29 mts. All this place is surrounded by fossils (bivalve, twisted shells: ammonite) and is suitable to practice adventure activities as trekking, climbing, mountain bike among others. There is a campsite there, huts and restaurant to try tipical meals.

You can visit this place any time of the year. The greatest deal of flow succeed in spring time.

Malargue’s Regional Museum

There we find fragments of arqueological and paleontological great value . It has four rooms: 1) Paleontology and mineralogy 2) archaeology 3) History and Folklore 4) Laboratory.

In his rooms, you find cientific great value fragments as ammonites (150 millions of years and 80 cms of diameter), native mummy, last century ‘s weapons and coins, darts, indigenous vessels, several minerals, and ictiosaurous, and marine reptile. Among embalmed animals we find: condor, eagle, puma, puma’s cranium, duck, biguá, among others.
